New Zealand Rugby’s CEO Mark Robinson visits Timaru.

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of hosting Mark Robinson from New Zealand Rugby.

Over the past month Mark has been visiting various provincial unions  and will continue to do so for the next few months again he gets around us all.

It is exciting for us to know that Mark is invested in South Canterbury Rugby, and he was enthusiastic to see first hand that the redevelopment of Fraser Park is underway

As Mark commented it was awesome to see the investment that is occurring here in Timaru and in South Canterbury and to have so many parties involved in the multi-purpose facility that will set us all up for many years ahead.

He acknowledged the contribution of all involved and a special thanks must go to the Rooney Group, Thompsons, the many charitable trusts, local and central government agencies, contractors , sub-contractors, along with the local individuals and companies who have all contributed financially to the project.

While most of the funding has been secured for Fraser Park Trust, there still is shortfall and in that light we have several events planned over the next 6 months. Watch this space.

If anyone or company is interested in coming on board and would like to contribute and be a sponsor, please contact Phillipa Guerin either by phone 027 685 8008 or email: Phillipa@fpct.co.nz

Sponsors and Community Trusts:

South Canterbury Rugby Union would like to ‘say a massive thank-you’ to all of our wonderful sponsors and community trusts that have come on board over the past few months.

Without the support of these wonderful individuals, companies and trusts the task of us delivering rugby to not only our Heartland  Team but to all of our representatives teams would be very challenging.

Several of our sponsors this year have also agreed to assist us in the women’s and girls space which is exciting.

Thanks also to those companies and trusts that are assisting us in our community and club space.

Please where possible support this amazing organisations because the more we support them they will support us.

Our Condolences:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Morresey family during this sad and difficult time.

Congratulations:

What an amazing achievement for Miles Medlicott from the Waimate Rugby Club who played his 150th senior game last week. Well done only 50 more games to get to the 200.
